Socrates Socks Blue
Socrates Σωκράτης (470-399 BC) was a Greek philosopher who is considered one of the founders of Western philosophy. He was born in Athens in the 5th century BCE and is best known for his method of questioning, known as the Socratic method, which he used to challenge the beliefs and assumptions of his fellow citizens. Socrates did not leave any written works of his own, so our understanding of his philosophy comes from the writings of his students, particularly Plato. According to Plato, Socrates was deeply concerned with ethics and the pursuit of truth, and he believed that the only way to truly understand something was to question it and think critically about it. He believed that the pursuit of wisdom was the highest goal in life and that knowledge was the key to living a good life.
